The sickening hypocrisy continues
An article on gay365.com explains how State Rep. Bob Allen, Florida Republican and Christian Coalition cheerleader, was arrested for propositioning an undercover officer for oral sex in a public bathroom. Upon being arrested, he asked officers, "I don't suppose it would help if I said I was a State Legislator, would it?"

Infanticide in India
A story on the BBC's website describes how a two-day-old Indian girl was buried alive by her grandfather, because "a girl child is often viewed as inferior to a boy and a bride's dowry can also cripple a family financially."

WebLog/RSS (or lack thereof)
For various reasons, I have been lax in blogging to this site lately... for one reason, the pMachine software is rather klunky and I'm not happy with it. Anyway, for the moment, until I straighten out this site and my other domains, you can see newer, more topical comments on my MySpace page. But once I choose a CMS or whatever to use (Wordpress is one possibility), this frequency should be broadcasting again soon.

O how the mighty have fallen
The tale of the "Reverend" Ted Haggard is becoming more salacious by the hour. He's the defrocked pastor of a mega-church in Colorado, former president of an embarrassed National Association of Evangelicals, and proponent of a state amendment to ban gay marriage. Having first categorically denied the allegations made by a male escort — that they had sex and used methamphetamine — he then backtracked, admitting to using meth, but not to having gay sex (as if that's any less abominable). Inventor of Lie Detector called "crackpot" by FBI
antipolygraph.org has posted a 19-page FBI file describing how the agency considered the inventor of the lie detector (who also, strangely enough, created the Wonder Woman comic book character under a pseudonym), to be a "phony" and a "crackpot". MORE...

More proof that eBay is evil
Checking up on some of my fellow eBay'ers, I ran across this auction (local cached copy here). Basically, it offers a "wallpaper" for GBP£0.01 (1 pence). But the title says "NOT 1P BUT FREE!!!" So how's this a scam? Because in the description, he says "You will pay absolutely nothing for this. Once you have completed the transaction, I will email you the full size wallpaper. As soon as you leave me feedback, I will do the same for you." Smell something bad here? MORE...

More eBay Shame
I've added a new member to my eBay rant page, a Power Seller this time: fastmemoryman. He may not have a bad feedback rating (and indeed, I bought memory from him once before, which I later resold). But his return policy smacks of scam artist, and PayPal seems to agree with me. MORE...

Cybersquatting: A Cheap Trick
I've just posted an entire page concerning the loss of my previous domain, lunarfox.com, which is what this site used to be run as. Thanks to these squatters' greed and the incompetence of RegisterFly, I lost it. I've spent dozens of hours to convert everything from the old name to voxluna.com, and it still isn't finished. Thanks a lot, guys!

Perverted Justice
Dateline NBC, in cooperation with Perverted-Justice.com, just ran the third in a series of stings targeting adult men soliciting who they think are underage teenagers online. School teachers, rabbis, convicted felons, you name it! Fifty men in 3 days showed up at a house expecting sex with a "13 year old", and often brought along alcohol, condoms, lubricant, even Viagra. Picky URLs
When are server admins going to get with the usability program and allow case-insensitive URLs? Go to this link and you get a 404 error, because it's not capitalized the way it was intended. The same goes for "WWW".somesite.com versus just "somesite.com" ... the latter which I specifically want for my own sites because it makes the URL shorter (and somewhat easier to remember).
